Pick-Up and Drop-Off Protocol

Parking for Drop-Off

Effective immediately, we are asking that unless you are a staff member or toddler family, you do not park in the lot to the left of the school near the toddler area. 

The volume of cars in that small area has created an unsafe bottleneck situation for families trying to enter and exit the parking lot from Parker Street.  We expect that this change will keep vehicles moving and that it will actually be faster for folks to park in the gravel lot and walk over to the entrance.

Toddler families

We have not planned any changes to your drop-off or pick up procedures, but remember to be aware of your surroundings while backing out. 

There are 4 designated toddler parking spots specifically for the drop-off and pick up of our smallest students. Please park in the available spots and walk your child to the door for drop off. At pickup time please follow that same procedure.

We would also like to remind families that our staff is contracted until exactly 4 pm, so please plan your day accordingly to ensure a prompt pickup.


Children’s House families

Dropoff 8:15-8:25:

  • You now have the option to use the front driveway and stop in the lane closest to the school, then bring your child(ren) to the double doors or up the ramp.  The lane closest to Parker Street needs to be open for folks to travel through, so do not stop in the lane closer to Parker St. 

  • Alternatively, you can park in Camp Wilder’s gravel lot and walk students to the double doors.
     

Pickup 2:50-3:00:

  • Starting Monday, October 30th, you will also have the opportunity to drive through the front driveway in a similar fashion to the new drop-off procedure.  You can temporarily stop in the lane closest to school, then use the other lane to exit.

  • Park at Camp Wilder and walk over to the double doors in front of the school.  Our teachers love sharing things about your child’s day with you, but they have now been asked to limit conversation at that time so that we can keep traffic flowing.  We request that you form a line under the canopy so that we can gather children based on the order in which families arrive.


Elementary Families

Dropoff 8:15-8:30: 

  • Park in the gravel lot and bring your child to the back gate, but be aware that weather sometimes requires us to relocate drop-off to the front of the school. 
     

Pickup - Starting Monday, October 30th

  • In order to stagger pickup times between programs, elementary pickup will occur between 3:00-3:10.  Please do not wait in the front driveway before 3:00, as our Children’s House families will now need to move through there between 2:50-3:00.


Volunteer

8:10-8:30 am & 2:50-3:10 pm.

  • We need volunteers!  These are very busy times of day for PVMS staff.  Can you help?  We need someone to make sure the lanes in front are being used correctly and encourage folks to move up! We would also like this individual to provide administrators feedback so that we can continue to troubleshoot as needed.  We do not expect the same person to do this every day, but if you can do a few of the windows, or know someone who could, that would be wonderful.
