Celebrating 60 years of PVMS

Celebrating past generations, preparing for the ones ahead.

Newspaper article published ahead of PVMS’ opening year!

60 years ago, a group of local parents hoped for their children to have a Montessori education. With a generous land donation from Richard and Emma Wilder Anderson, the Pioneer Valley Montessori Society was established and a one-classroom building was constructed less than a year later. Over the decades, PVMS has continuously inspired curiosity, compassion and kindness in its many students, now alumni. Today, we are excited as ever to build on the legacy that was created and to forge a path into the next 60 years.

The time has come to act with intention. Our faculty at PVMS foster exciting environments for students to learn and grow and while the current facility has met our needs, we are outgrowing the space quickly. By expanding our program, both in facility and in practice, we will create more learning opportunities for current and future students, while staying true to our Montessori roots.

We hope you will join us by investing in our mission of providing a responsive and nurturing environment for future generations of Montessorians - for the next 60 years and beyond.
