Salt Dough Hand-prints

 
 
 

Ingredients

  • 1 cup of flour

  • ½ cup of salt

  • ½ cup of warm water

  • Food coloring (optional)

Directions

  1. Measure out the flour, salt, and warm water.

  2. Mix the ingredients in a small bowl until combined. If desired, add a few drops of food coloring.

  3. Knead the dough until smooth (about 7-10 minutes).

  4. Sprinkle a bit of flour onto the work surface. Roll out the dough to the desired thickness. (½ inch thick).

  5. Have the child place his or her hand into the center of the dough to create a hand-print.

  6. Bake the hand-print in the oven at 200 degrees for 3 hours to harden. Alternatively, allow the hand-print to dry for 2-3 days at room temperature.

  7. If desired, paint the hand-print.
