What is the PCO?
The concept is similar to a PTO – an organization of parents, teachers and school staff. We changed the name to Parent Community Organization because it includes both the membership of our organization (the parent body: moms, dads, caregivers) as well as the group’s commitment to be inclusive of the entire school community.
What does the PCO do?
Our goal is to make our school a more rounded place to be. We know the teachers and staff at PVMS do a great job educating our children. But the fact that this is a small school means that our kids and families may not have the same social opportunities kids have at bigger schools.
The PCO:
Creates and gives each child a free yearbook at the end of each year
Provides funds to help pay for field trips
Plans get-together times during school vacations (for different ages)
Plans a “Movie Night” at the School
Puts together a Halloween party for all ages!
Fundraises to pay for all these activities. (We sell Mums, Coffee, Pizza, etc.)
