Welcome to the 24/25 school year! We are off to a great start thanks to our wonderful families and staff members.
At the beginning of each school year, I like to remind families that children are experiencing a lot of new things and trying their best all day long. They are likely to have a lot of big feelings to work through when they get home or when they get ready for school in the morning. This is known as “after-school restraint collapse”. I have been seeing it again with my own son and he has been attending PVMS for several years now.
So, to all of us who are in the thick of it: this is very common and will fade as they adjust to school. If you'd like any support, please reach out to myself or your child’s teacher to help navigate these changes and feelings. We are here to help! Our Learning and Behavior Specialist Ms. Sam has been circulating to support students through tough moments as well.
On a separate note, we are celebrating an anniversary this year! PVMS was founded 60 years ago (in 1964) by a group of parents. The school has thrived and grown based on the love and attention from PVMS families throughout the years. In each of this year’s newsletters, we will be reflecting back on a moment in PVMS history. Today, we will start at the beginning and share a fun fact about one of our founding families.
Fun Fact: This summer, Rosetta Angelica Adornato celebrated her 90th birthday and in lieu of presents, asked for donations to PVMS. Thank you for your continued dedication and support from the very beginning, Angelica family!
As a non-profit school, philanthropy makes all of the difference for us and is so rewarding. Please keep an eye out for ways you can support our school as we move through the school year.
Thank you for trusting us with your children, we are honored to do this work.
Here’s to a great school year!

Due to a scheduling conflict with our venue, we have been asked to reschedule our event.
We apologize for any inconvenience and look forward to hosting this event at a later date, to be determined.
-
Due to high enrollment in the After-School program this year, and the need to stay within our licensed teacher-to-student ratio for the program, we do not have the flexibility for as many drop-ins as we’ve had in the past.
If you think you need drop-in care one day, you MUST call
the school office to confirm availability. We will make every effort to accommodate you. Please know that there is also a chance we may not be able to do so.
Please Note:
There is NO before-school available for Elementary students (Grades 1-6).
Toddler Classroom does not offer before/after school options.

We thank you for your patience while we get in the swing of things. A few reminders to get things moving smoothly.
The Lower and Upper Elementary students drop-off at the back yard gate, and pick-up in the driveway.
Children’s House SOUTH and NORTH classrooms have drop-off at the double-doors. Pick-up for North is through the double doors. Pick-up for South is from the single door NEXT to the double doors.
Children’s House EAST students will drop-off at the door at the top of the ramp in the front of the school. Pick-up is at the double doors at the bottom of the ramp.
Toddler drop-off and pick-up is at the toddler classroom. Parking in the 4 spots, marked “Toddler Parking” are only for caregivers picking-up/dropping-off toddler students.
*If we need to make a change for either drop off or pick up location due to weather, we will text and/or email parents ASAP.
